PART TIME SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPER Pay: $15.00 per hour
Job description: Glenridge Manor Mobile Home Park is now hiring a Part-Time Seasonal Groundskeeper. If you enjoy working outside, this may be the job for you! The ideal candidate will be a hard worker with a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
JOB DETAILS Salary: $15.00 an hourJob Type: Part-timeSchedule (weather permitting): Monday – Friday: 9:00 – 3:00, with a one-hour lunch break. (Hours may vary).Seasonal Position: April to OctoberWork Location: (7227 Moeller Road, Fort Wayne IN 46806)
BASIC FUNCTION Perform park maintenance, and grounds-care activities involved in the beautification of park grounds, facilities, and landscaped areas.
QUALIFICATIONS Groundskeeping and maintenance experience - 1-3 years preferred. Must possess knowledge or ability to quickly learn the methods, materials, terminology, principles, practices, procedures, and equipment used in assigned field.Education: High school diploma or GED.Driver's License: Valid driver’s license is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Mow, edge, trim lawns, and other grounds; prepare and fertilize soil; maintain grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.2. Operate a variety of power-driven equipment including mowers, tractor, skid steerer, edger, blower, string trimmer, chainsaws, hedge trimmers and other equipment used in grounds maintenance activities; utilize standard maintenance hand tools.3. Plant and maintain trees, grass, hedges, and shrubs; using hand tools and other equipment.4. Rake leaves; edge walkways; sweep litter from walks, driveways, and other assigned areas.5. Empty waste receptacles as needed.6. Perform minor maintenance on equipment such as keeping tires inflated at proper levels, sharpening blades, checking, and replenishing/replacing oil, and replacing spark plugs.7. Apply weed control methods to eliminate weeds and other pests according to established procedures.8. Perform work from ladders, bucket trucks and scaffolding as needed.9. Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.10. Maintaining playground area.11. Pool maintenance as needed.12. Removal of snow from various areas of the park; clear entryways, walkways, and other areas of snow; apply ice-melt as needed.13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is an outdoor/indoor job. The ideal candidate will not have severe allergies or asthma that affect breathing. While lifting extreme weight is not normal, applicant should be able to lift 30 – 50 lbs. as needed. Stamina is important as outdoor work in the summer is required.
